Mitsubishi Uni-ball One P Gel Ink Pen with 2 Refills 0.5MM

There is a reason why this pen won the stationary award in Japan in 2023. The pen writes great, is a compact and easy to use size, and the ink is nice and dark. Some of these come in different sized cartridges such as 0.38mm or 0.5mm, and that is all personal preference. Overall these are easily in my top 5 favorite pens I have ever purchased and will continue to purchase them.

I bought this a little while ago now and use it regularly. I like that it can easily be refilled. I use it when my hand is tired from writing and it does help reduce hand fatigue. The ink quality is excellent, very black, and dries quickly. It will smear if you use a highlighter over it soon after writing, but doesn't if you give it time to dry.

This pen is quite short, and thick, which gives a really pleasant writing experience if you are into a thicker hand hold. I wouldn't necessary recommend it for super long writing sessions but for under an hour it is awesome. The plastic as a slightly matte feel to it. The uni-ball refill is very nice and is dark black and smooth, it's also a huge plus that it fits sharpie s-gel and energel refills. The click is pretty nice.

The clip is a great double as a fidget toy you can "click" by pressing to open and close. I thought I wasn't going to like this part of the pen but actually having a way to release and clip makes it super nice, seems firm enough.

They have a spring stabilizer inside which is designed to stay in there with a plastic mechanism which makes replacing the refills super nice.

This Uniball One P is a stubby and thick design, but it makes it very comfortable to grip. However, it's not ideal for fitting into pen loops of notebooks and journal covers. The Uniball One gel ink writes smoothly, but sometimes, I do get a bit of skipping. It's not frequent but it is there. The gel ink looks great on most paper and doesn't feather but also doesn't dry very quickly. Compared to other gel pens, this have got one of the blackest if not blackest gel inks I've ever used.

I have to have a pen with me. Leaving the house without a pen feels like I've left the house without my wallet, phone or keys. These One P pens are a great size for the pocket. These pens have replaced the Pilot G2 Mini as my EDC pen.

The ink might be the blackest I've ever used, but writing is not as smooth or consistent as Jetstream ink. Ink dries fast, but not as fast as Jetstream ink.

I love the fat barrel. I find it very comfortable. I love that the barrel takes full size Jetstream refills. No more cutting down Jetstream refills to fit Pilot G2 Mini barrels.
